The Foundation of ART NYC is a nonprofit arts organization based in New York dedicated to exhibitions, research, education, artist residencies, and archives. Since initiating its programs in 2020 and becoming an officially registered nonprofit foundation in 2025, the Foundation has supported contemporary artists while preserving artistic legacies through long-term cultural initiatives.

The Foundation was established with a commitment to researching and preserving the histories of immigrant and diaspora artists in America. Many artists have made significant contributions to art history, yet their work and archives remain largely undocumented or inaccessible. Through research, exhibitions, publications, and educational programs, the Foundation works to preserve these histories and make them available to the public.

In 2026, The Foundation of ART NYC organized Song E Yoon: Songs Across Time, an official Collateral Event of the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. During the same year, the Foundation established ART NYC Korea in Ulsan, creating an additional base for exhibitions, artist residencies, educational programs, and cultural exchange.

The Foundation operates through three interconnected divisions: Team ART NYC, Gallery ART NYC, and Contents ART NYC.

Team ART NYC supports the long-term development of artists and curators through residency programs, research initiatives, mentorship, and international exchange. The Foundation values sustained artistic development, critical dialogue, and continuous experimentation over short-term production.

Gallery ART NYC serves as the Foundation’s exhibition platform. Each exhibition is developed according to the specific needs of the artist and the project rather than being limited to a single venue. In addition to its own exhibition spaces, the Foundation collaborates with museums, cultural institutions, alternative spaces, and public venues to realize exhibitions in the most appropriate context.

Contents ART NYC produces editorial, educational, and documentary content that introduces artists and exhibitions while documenting artistic research and creative processes. By focusing on process as well as finished works, the Foundation seeks to deepen public understanding of contemporary art and artistic practice.

The Foundation has organized artist residencies, exhibitions, performances, public talks, workshops, exhibition tours, film screenings, and studio visits in collaboration with artists and cultural institutions. It supports a broad range of contemporary practices, including conceptual art and new media, while encouraging dialogue across art, history, science, and the humanities.

The Foundation of ART NYC is committed to supporting artists throughout their careers by preserving archives, developing research, fostering cultural exchange, and creating opportunities for meaningful collaboration between artists, institutions, and the public.
