[100 Challenge] Jisook Kim_64

While trekking in Sedona, I felt profound artistic inspiration. I perceive the vortexes there as points where cosmic waves reveal themselves on Earth. Sedona holds within it the energetic patterns of the planet, and my artwork, in turn, reflects the universal energy patterns unfolding within each individual.

The ascending and descending flows of vortex energy remind me of the cycles of expansion and contraction, light and darkness, stillness and movement. In my art, this energy is not simply depicted but reinterpreted through lines, density, space, and flow.

The emotions I feel during creation, such as focused concentration, the trembling of the inner self, the subtle waves that arise in stillness, and the moments when balance permeates everything, are my personal vortexes.

Sedona’s vortex is the universe grounded in the Earth. My artwork is the universe embodied within the self.
