How Much Does Humor Influence Art?
I love Maurizio Cattelan's style of humor. He is sharp and funny and embarrasses people who are in trouble, but it doesn't feel bad. There are people in the literary world who are good at using humor.
Mark Twain, the father of American literature, left behind masterpieces such as The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. He gained a reputation as a highly American and free-spirited author. His novel Jim Smiley and His Jumping Frog, which was published in 1865 in several newspapers and magazines, became a huge hit. Readers received a Mediterranean cruise that followed this series in newspapers with his humorous strokes. Handsome-looking, red-haired journalist and traveler Mark Twain. In his mid-30s, he became the most popular writer in the United States.
Mark Twain's exhibition, which is now being held at the Glorier Club in New York, shows almost the entire history of his work. You would never think New York could hold so many historic books. But nestled among the quiet residential neighborhoods, the club has continued its legacy since the 1800s. The showrooms are open to the public, and the archives are reserved for use. I looked around the corners as I got the opportunity to fit in. It was old and antique but not shiny. It was not luxurious and straightforward, and it was too attractive for those who were intellectually greedy. Not long ago, I remembered many books on display at the Edward F. Albee Residency. The Glorier Club was a place of harmony with more than 200 years of history and countless writings in New York.
Many friends read ‘The Adventures of Tom Sawyer’ when they were young. Looking at Mark Twain's history, I wondered about the book again. I can't remember what this book had. I would like to rewatch it and discover new perspectives.
