"A Crushed Memory Time & Space" Letter in Jan 2025_08

Jan 25, 2025

Dear, Rob

It was great meeting you today.

I attached a link and pdf file of Lawrence's book about Etruscan.

Understanding that and making a route for our travel will be helpful. Please find my email before I sent about that while you were busy. Maybe you missed it.

While talking today, I felt we were a good stimulus to each other. No matter how good the proposal is, if the other person is not prepared, it may be negatively affected. I think we can achieve something together only when we have similar energy.

Let me summarize today's meeting

1. Our exhibition 2026

- We can focus on anything each other.

- Exhibition titles are based on form and are not content-oriented. Therefore, each artist can make different arguments for their theme.

- Finding historical sources based on facts is inspired, and we want our imaginations to be persuasive, not to make our arguments real because we are artists, not historians.

- If Roby cannot visit Korea this year, we can do it another year in the future becase our project will never be finished. We will keep doing it.

2. Travel

- Basel schedule (June 13~23) It can be fixed depending on the exhibition schedule.

- Visit Italy before Basel is better

- We will make sure our schedule for April

- Roby can make a plan for traveling spots.

- We will take a rental car to visit any historic spot in the countryside.

- Rome is no good idea in this season. Florence is better.

- The rented car pick-up spot is probably in Milan.

- traveling outline

for three days of visiting and searching for the spot; the next day is free time.

What’s your think about that? If I missed something please feedback to me.

All the best,

Song E

Hi Song!
I saw the book you attached: I know the author (Lawrence) very well, I have read several of his short novels and novels! He's one of the most famous dramaturg in England!

I like how he writes, he is very dreamy and full of images. I will read the text you recommended!

I found the email on Etruria, which you sent me when I was busy with the essays! I'll look for the best museums on Etruscan gold crafts in Italy and I'll let you know. We'll see if we can connect what you saw in the Museum of New York with the ornamental objects of Korean culture, which you told me about.

The summary of the meeting is fine!
The only point I want to underline is my availability of time for our trip in June: I will have a maximum of 7 days. So I don't think I'll be able to do both Basel and Florence. However, we will see this in the coming months. In the meantime, I'm collecting information about our spots around Florence and I'll let you know!

Keep your energy high!

A big hug,
Rob

Hi Song!
I'm glad our trip can be flexible!
I'm studying the map every day to see which other places might interest us... I'll suggest other places to you and then, when we'll have several options in front of us, we'll choose the ones that are most consistent with our purposes and our possibilities!

For example:

I saw the photos of the environment you are in: it is an incredible structure! Large, new, bright, inviting and full of comfort! Inspire reflection and immersion in study! How's it going?

I want to share my work studio with you too! What you see in the photo is my work table, both for writing and drawing!

A big hug,
Rob

Dear, Rob

Wow!! Your space view looks very England.

I hope to visit Siena. Let’s mark the map and set an approximate schedule after finding as many routes as possible from Florence. However, the situation changes a lot during the trip, so let's prioritize and visit according to the situation.

So Exiting!!

Best,

Song E

common ancestors

Hi Song, how's it going? How are you?

I read your Challenge text on trauma and it struck me a lot.
And your drawings are beautiful.

Yesterday I recovered a video that I used to show my students at school: it demonstrates, through a DNA test, how we all derive from very few common ancestors.

You came to mind because during our last meeting we talked about common roots, transcultural relationships, ancient migrations and contamination. The clip lasts a few minutes, is well done and is very touching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fw7FhU-G1_Q

Tell me how it goes...

A hug,
Rob
