Dear, Rob
It is the first day of the artist's residency. This is a fantastic place. Everything is new and lovely. So many books are displayed in the living room. I just met another artist, too. They look so beautiful. Ella is a visual artist. She uses wood materials and runs a frame shop. Dante is a young man and writer. Ocean is also a writer. He is in a wheelchair, but this building has an elevator, so it is no problem.
My art studio is so white. Nobody touched it. I thought of what to do on this white wall. I will take a picture of the coordinates we create, study, and visit here and connect them to make a visual effect. I'm so curious about how this will be done.
Also, I am starting the 100 Challenge.
Today, early in the morning, deer families visited the backyard, and at dinner time, they came again. But they scared me. They are away quickly.
How about your time?
After break time, better condition?
I am waiting for your 100 challenge, too.
Let’s talk about that later.
Big hug

Dear Song,
I am so happy to hear you are starting this new experience and are already feeling so stimulated! I think having the opportunity to do a workshop like yours is the dream of any creative spirit: you'll have a lot of time and space to think and do!
It is ideal to write your 100 Challenge and reorganize many of the ideas that we have shared during this period.
I spent this last 10 days with my family. They have been very intense days.
The weather in Italy is beautiful; it feels like spring. But tomorrow I will be back in England, so I think it will be winter again!
I am reading the book by Lawrence that you sent me. It is fascinating. You can feel the nostalgic note of a dreamy look at a mysterious and distant past…
I also started thinking about how to organize our June trip. The stops we want to do are Florence, San Giminiano, Tarquinia, and Cerveteri, right? The first two are 1 hour and a half apart, while the last two are not in Tuscany but in the North of Lazio (i.e., closer to Rome) and are 3 hours and a half away from Florence. If we want to keep these places as a destination, sleeping in different structures and cities will therefore be necessary! I have attached the screens of the maps.
Note that the roads in central Italy are unlike those in North Italy and Switzerland: they can be tortuous and poorly marked!
In any case, I will continue to search. Other sites can be interesting:
- Volterra: 1.5 hours from Florence and is an essential Etruscan site and a charming medieval village; https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=71611abca5e5e6db&rlz=1C1FHFK_enIT1110IT1110&q=volterra&udm=2&fbs=ABzOT_CJHzLz2g9qLwS3rPIwRoY84oX4_Z-Cl9eu6FL5-ogFnsQxdjxawdopnpYxHtW9NBhSfkE4SBWP4ttZNTAwcP93bwHo6g_jdc0za9si6QHH1QaF7FxV2IgSZBpdZiuYaKai4QSl8zZ557ax7MqBBghpO8CpmGe0sLrmXs7I1Ho23aRVlQo&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjD2K2lhaqLAxU12wIHHabCBGkQtKgLegQICxAB&biw=1920&bih=1020&dpr=1.5
- Pistoia: 50 minutes from Florence, and there is a direct train to get there. The city is a jewel of art and architecture (from 800 AD to the Renaissance) https://www.google.com/search?q=pistoia&sca_esv=71611abca5e5e6db&rlz=1C1FHFK_enIT1110IT1110&udm=2&biw=1920&bih=1020&ei=BwuiZ8vMCv65i-gPusan4AY&ved=0ahUKEwiL7JimhaqLAxX-3AIHHTrjCWwQ4dUDCBE&uact=5&oq=pistoia&gs_lp=EgNpbWciB3Bpc3RvaWEyCBAAGIAEGLEDMgsQABiABBixAxiDATILEAAYgAQYsQMYgwEyCxAAGIAEGLEDGIMBMgsQABiABBixAxiDATILEAAYgAQYsQMYgwEyBRAAGIAEMgUQABiABDIFEAAYgAQyBRAAGIAESMISUOoGWI8OcAJ4AJABAJgBXqABuwSqAQE3uAEDyAEA-AEBmAIJoALcBMICDRAAGIAEGLEDGEMYigXCAgYQABgHGB7CAgoQABiABBhDGIoFmAMAiAYBkgcBOaAHqCI&sclient=img
- Parco Nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi, Monte Falterona e Campigna: 1 hour and a half by car from Florence, it is a very suggestive natural park where many Etruscan finds have been found and where it is possible to take long walks in a magical landscape. https://www.visittuscany.com/it/attrazioni/il-parco-nazionale-delle-foreste-casentinesi-monte-falterona-e-campigna/
I suggested these three places because they are much more underground than other Tuscan tourist destinations, but they have a potent charm.
I will continue to look for other sites; let me know what you think.
I wish you a good continuation; keep me updated on what you are doing!
A big hug,
Rob

Dear, Rob
I am enjoying your 100-challenge articles and have searched for the information you sent me. You talk to me this year; Rome will be busy. Also, Lawrence has already visited Tarquinia and Cerveteri, so we can see Pistoia, Volterra, and San Giminiano near Florence.
We have only one week. The itinerary seems enough.
We can keep searching and talking to make a plan.
If you have any idea please let me know.
All the best,
Song E
