On the First day of Edward F. Albee’s residency
This is a great house and art studio. It just renovated a new home, the name of the barn. I am the first artist after renovated. I will stay here with another visual artist and two writers. I just met another artist here. Dante came here next to me, and Ella came with her husband. Both were beautiful people.
The Edward F. Albee residency was Founded in 1967 by Edward Albee after proceeds from his play Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Proved abundant, the Edward F. Albee Foundation has maintained the William Flanagan Memorial Creative Persons Center (better known as "The Barn") in Montauk, on Long Island in New York, for almost 60 years. The center serves writers and visual artists from all walks of life by providing time and space to work without disturbance.
He remained his everything here until he died. The second-floor living room surrounded many books and displayed paintings and sculptures by artists during the residency program.
In the morning, the deer family visited our backyard. They searched for food and then quickly disappeared. It seems like an illusion. It's a typical landscape for people living on the outskirts of New Jersey or New York, but it's very unusual for me, who only lived in the city.
This is a place where delicate consideration for artists is felt. It has a perfect kitchen, a comfortable sofa, a desk for several people to work with, and a private art studio. You can enjoy swimming by the sea if you walk out a little, but it's so cold right now that it's hard even to get some fresh air. But the room temperature here is perfect.
My art studio has an immaculate white wall. I'm thinking of making a project map here for a month from now on. How will it be completed?
