He made me cray
The fact that the culture and history of the Korean Peninsula are close to the Mediterranean Sea and Persia, not China, is the topic that interests me the most right now. The nomadic peoples who lived in Central Asia and were divided into many branches studied combinations of imagination and facts because they thought the arguments and grounds of various scholars that reached the Korean Peninsula were convincing.
Is it possible for humans to communicate with each other over time and space? Many are touched by books or artworks left by scholars who died thousands of years ago. In this way, descendants can feel it with what their ancestors left behind, but they cannot communicate. This is the first time this is so sad.
I found D.H. Lwrence’s (1885~1930) book about Etruscan history place. I also listened to Park Yongsook's(1934~2018) lecture on YouTube. The images of people I see on YouTube these days are so vivid that I had no idea that he had already died.
What they had in common was that they were novelists. These two novelists deduced through a novelist's imagination and discovered historical facts through their studies.
I ordered all his books and read only the author’s writing. I wept as soon as I read the first page of his book, The Shaman Empire. He studied for over five years in solitude and drew a map of the shamans during that time.
He said in books, ‘How nice would it be if this book made good friends?’
He wrote clearly what I wanted to study, and his hope made me sad. I can be his good friend, but he is not here anymore. It's such a regret that this meeting can only be one way.
