2024 VENICE BIENNALE SPECIAL EXHIBITION

Frédéric Bruly Bouabré (1923~2014), is an Ivorian artist who was commited to observing, preserving, and sharing the world around him. Bouabre dedicated his life to documenting the culture and language of his native Côte d'Ivoire’s Bété community. Bouabre took his native language invented the Alphabet Bété - the first written alphabet for the Bete people is a creator of Alphabet Bete Languge. He went through the French colonial period in Ivory Coast. In his work, this contemporary background became the driving force behind the artist's artistic motivation to remind his citizens who did not know how to write through written language. He participated in the Venice Biennale in 2022, 2013, 1993, and recently had a solo show in 2022 at the MoMA. We will show his undisclosed 100 drawings in this show in Venice, Italy.  

Song E Yoon (1983~) is a New York-based contemporary artist. She developed her theory, 'Intangible Art,' which was presented in her master's thesis titled 'A Study on the Invisible Dimension through the Media' and published by Busan National University Press. Born in Busan, South Korea, she completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in Fine Art at Pusan National University. In 2011, she was selected as a regionally representative artist in a network of art exhibitions organized by the National Culture and Arts Support System and ARKO MUSEUM (ARKO). Yoon has exhibited at major art museums across Korea, including ARKO, BMA, and DMA. In 2013, she moved to New York, where she held solo exhibitions in 2014 and 2019 at the New York Minded Gallery and collaborated on solo exhibitions with ART NYC in 2022. Her upcoming solo show, 'Deviant Sublime', in Venice, Italy, will feature her installation works and paintings accompanied by the background music 'Miserere mei, Deus,' a 17th-century chant composed by Gregorio Allegri.

Dan Ji (1985~) is an artist based in Sydney, Australia. Her work focuses on storytelling through multimedia, including paintings, books, installations, and more. Born in Busan, South Korea, she completed her bachelor's degree in Fine Art at Pusan National University. In 2007, she attempted to publish a picture book titled 'ARI and My Brother.' In 2013, she held a solo exhibition titled '[ILLUSION]' at Bupyeong Art Space in Busan. She relocated to Sydney from Korea in 2014. In 2022, she was selected as a long-term residency artist by ART NYC. Since then, she has hosted the 10-episode Kryptos series three times. In 2023, she has on the Guerilla Performance Project 'Out of Service' located around the Sydney Opera House and the Museum of Modern Art. In this special exhibition in Venice, '<Kryptos 4>' will feature multimedia works, paintings, and performances connected to previous Kryptos series exhibitions.

Bouabre dedicò la sua vita a documentare la cultura e la lingua della sua comunità Bété nativa in Costa d'Avorio. Bouabre prese la sua lingua madre inventato l'Alfabeto Bété - il primo alfabeto scritto per il popolo Bete è un creatore dell'Alfabeto Bete Langue.
